Well, it's been a while since my last update, so I figured I'd humor everyone with the latest.

I suppose I'll start, as usual, with Horizon. I just turned in the white draft of 2.18 today, which is titled "Amazing Grace" as many of you probably know. I wasn't sure about it at first, but upon a reread I'm pretty pleased with a few scenes in particular. There are still a few things that need to be worked out but we've got four writers to do that, so all in all I think it will be the quintessential David episode...for now at least. David will be visited by two friends in typical "grace" format. One we know, and the other we don't. Anyway, that marks my third white draft submitted. My next endeavor "Catch 22," will begin as soon as the final few story points are sorted out. I wrote the outline in a day but Joe suggested some changes that had to be made. This story never has been easy. With 2.09 involving mostly Grant, Christine, and Lenori, and 2.16 involving mostly Yusuf, Christine, and Tom, and 2.18 being mostly David, 2.21 will be a complete team episode, and I can't wait for it, to be honest. It may very well be my last script this season, but it also may very well not be, as 2.22 sounds interesting as well.

Work on the usual episodes continues. Vincent submitted his outline of 2.19 "Aversion" to Alex and there may be some changes made. Since the plot of it was never known publicly anyway, I guess that doesn't mean much to anyone else. Joe's got two acts of 2.20's outline done, and I do believe he's working on the third as I type. No name for that one yet, but there's definitely an interesting story to it. Expect to hear from the Aschen again.

With drafts of "Night Terrors" and "The Adversary" done, Alex has moved on to 2.17, which has been titled "Zach Story," "Necessary Evil," and "A Journalist's Day." Since "Zach Story" was a working title, "A Journalist's Day" doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, and the story isn't really about a "Necessary Evil" anymore, it's likely that there will be a new name in the future. The story has been changed a bit, and the episode will have a very interesting format.

So, every episode of season two up to 2.21 is either released, awaiting release, undergoing revisions, or in development. Season two has come and gone pretty fast, but it's not over yet. Upon the completion of 2.17, 2.19, 2.20, and 2.21, we'll have to wrap up the season. We have ideas for all three episodes. Expect to see lots of recurring characters in 2.22, two of which are pretty much confirmed (although nothing is certain yet). One made a single appearance in season two, and the other in both seasons. 2.22 is going to be the "calm before the storm," the storm being the two part finale that Alex is going to write. I still can't release any details on the storyline, but what we've come up with so far has me stoked for it.

New 24 tomorrow. The preview looked badass, looks like Curtis is about to mop the floor with Lynn McGill's hobbit ass.

Not much else to say, really. Hard to talk about 24 without spoiling it, although I'm looking forward to the returns of a few old characters in the near future. The two hour event in March should be great.

Come On, Man, Everyone Else is Doing It

Following in the footsteps of Alex and Vincent, I've decided to create my own blog, which will entail mostly stuff about Stargates SG-1, Atlantis, Horizon, and Destiny, as well as 24. You know, the good stuff.

So, where should I start? Horizon, I suppose. Things certainly are developing smoothly with Horizon. After today's meeting, we have at least an idea for every single episode of the season, and an interesting one it shall be. We've got some freaky dreams, a ZPM, the Enoly, a "grace" episode, the Aschen, and the return of several new characters in the second half of the season. Horizon is always a bit dark, but I'll just say that things are going to go down the crapper for our dear team later on. Darker episodes include "Path of Revelation," "Night Terrors," "Amazing Grace," "Catch 22", and, of course, the mysterious season finale we have planned, and season finales are guarenteed a bit of darkness here and there, no?

I can't really spoil anything that hasn't been spoiled already, but I suppose I could go through the progression. We'll be coming back on March 23rd with "Path of Revelation, Part Two." Right now, Earth is pretty screwed, what with the Enoly threatening doom upon the entire planet. Don't expect things to end there, as we've got "Path of Revelation, Part Two" set to be released afterward. Alex has spent a crapload of time on this trilogy, but we can all agree that the hard work has paid off. Hopefully, like the Enoly trilogy, this will be one to be remembered. Following that is "Night Terrors," which, like I said, is dark but fun. Alex is going to have this draft up pretty soon, and having read the outline I know it's going to be good. Along with that, he'll be releasing the draft for "The Adversary," which is another great episode. We'll get a chance to see Grant duke it out alone, and show off his survival skills. Here, here! Alex's next episode after that will premiere two weeks later, currently titled "Necessary Evil," formerly titled 'Zach Story." I can't really give you much on this one yet, but we'll be seeing things from a different point of view. After that I imagine he'll move on to 2.22, or perhaps begin work on the finale. Things are certainly moving full speed ahead.

As for my own workload, I'm also moving quicker than usual. This scriptwriting thing does indeed get easier with each script you write. After getting fed up with "Catch 22" in the front half of the season, I took up Alex's idea for "Yusuf Returns." Of course, now it's titled "Convergence," and the white draft was completed a week or two ago. I'll be going back to that one after I get some notes from the rest of the staff on it. In the mean time, I've been working on Horizon's "grace" episode, dubbed "Amazing Grace." It uses the basic formula for a "grace" episode: Take a character, put him/her alone in a dangerous situation, throw in a tab of hallucinated characters, and give the character an epiphany. In addition, it has a little bit of a mystery behind it that isn't revealed until the very end. Even though it is along the same lines as "Grace" and "Grace Under Pressure," it certainly has its share of action and character moments. I'm almost done with that, and while awaiting notes on it I'll be starting "Catch 22," which we broke today. Yes, it's going to work this time, and I'm glad we shelved it to allow the story to grow to its full potential. It could end up being my favorite self-written episode this season. From there, I'll see if any more episodes need writing this season, go back and revise the old ones, and get started on "The Making Of"s for all of them. Then, I suppose season three will begin production. Never gets old, I say.

As for the remaining episodes, Vincent's working on his first script, slated to be 2.19. He has a title, but it's way to early to reveal it. We're not quite sure if it will be final, for that matter, but it fits for now. We'll learn some things about the Enoly, and revisit events from 2.01-2.03. Joe just got started with 2.20, which will see the reappearance Aschen. He's working on the outline for that one, but it's likely that our proofreader Justin will co-write the episode with him. The final three episodes don't have writers assigned yet, and I can't really give any details. 2.23 and 2.24 are going to beat the stuffing out of season one's finale.

Then, of course, there's Stargate Destiny, the new and very promising virtual series that just started airing a few weeks ago. If you've been keeping up, you know that General Barrows and his crew have been getting into sticky situations for a few weeks now, light years away from Earth. If you're not a fan immediately, read on, and you'll be sure to enjoy the likes of "Behemoth" and "Treasure Trove," their two most recent episodes. If you can foresee the solution to "Behemoth" before Orion-1 does, you're one smart cookie. They'll be on a hiatus for a few weeks now, but I can't complain because Horizon's had its fair share of down time this season. Luckily, as promised, the second half will run without break. The remainder of episodes in Destiny's first half look great, I'm particularly looking forward to the next two, and "The Farm." Once their midseason hiatus starts, Horizon episodes will be back, so at least there's a constant flow.

In the world of Jack Bauer, things are continuing to heat up. Walt Cummings apparently commited suicide, but can you say "Jamey Farrell?" I'll believe he killed himself when he rises from the dead and tells me himself. Last week's ending genuinely had me surprised, but I'm still wondering when the hell Tony's going to wake up. We all know his soul patch has special healing properties (he couldn't have gotten shot in the neck only to be running CTU three hours later without it). The ads for next week look really interesting. I was starting to warm up to Logan, but something tells me that next week he's going to go back to being an asshole. Ah well, them's the breaks.

So completes my first blogging endeavor. Good fun.
